Palo Verde Health Care District Adopts eRAD's RIS/PACS

history_eradGREENVILLE, S.C., Nov. 16, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- eRAD, a division of RadNet, Inc. (Nasdaq:RDNT - News), an industry leader in workflow solutions through its native Web-based RIS/PACS and Diagnostic Imaging Information management Systems, announced today that Palo Verde Hospital, Blythe, California is now operational with eRAD's integrated RIS/PACS sold and installed by eRAD's authorized reseller, Merry X-Ray Corporation of Phoenix, Arizona.

Palo Verde Hospital, a hospital providing acute and comprehensive care and high-quality diagnostic imaging services to the desert community of Blythe, California, has completed a conversion and the migration of existing DICOM studies from an outdated system to web-based eRAD RIS/PACS. Patient images and diagnostic reports are accessed and diagnosed by radiologists situated at the hospital and from remote locations in and around the community.

"Palo Verde Hospital's selection criteria placed remote, web-access as one of the highest priorities. eRAD RIS / PACS meets the hospital's need to provide fast-and-easy access to diagnostic reports and images to referring physicians without an additional burden of investment or training on the part of the hospital," said Stephen Friedman, Executive Vice-president of eRAD. "The ease-of-use and deployment was everything that hospital management and clinical staff demanded. Referring physicians are accessing reports and image studies easily. They are very pleased."

Randy Moore, Branch Manager of Merry X-Ray commented, "With Palo Verde Hospital's remote desert location, service and reliability are of paramount concern. Installation, deployment and training have been extremely smooth. Moore continued, "The switch to the new RIS and PACS has been easier than the hospital staff expected. Remote support is easy as eRAD RIS/PACS provides full access to the system via the web."
