Laura Applegate, M.D. received her medical education at University of Texas Medical School at Houston. She completed her residency in radiology at University of California, Irvine and completed a two-year neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. She’s a diplomat of the American Board of Radiology with a certificate of added qualification in neuroradiology. Dr. Applegate is a senior member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, a member of the American Society of Head and Neck Radiology and a member of the Western Neuroradiological Society.

Dr. Applegate is fellowship trained and is published in Neuroradiology, Pediatric Neuroradiology and Ear, Nose & Throat. She has extensive experience in imaging assessment of the adult and pediatric spine, brain and ear, nose and throat. While at the University Pittsburgh she collaborated with the Pittsburgh Ear and Eye Institute, Skull Base Center and the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Moving to Los Angeles she began her West Coast career at St. Vincent’s Medical Center which services the world-renowned House Ear Institute. She then founded Pacific Advanced Radiology (PAR) with Greg Applegate and relocated to the San Fernando Valley Advanced Magnetic Resonance Center. Her collaborations over the last 22 years with clinicians and surgeons has given her keen insight into the pivotal role of imaging in clinical decision-making and surgical planning.

Dr. Applegate also has 25 years of experience in abdominal imaging. She has a particular interest in ultrasound and CT evaluation of the abdomen and pelvis.
