Dr. Gould-Simon has served as medical director of Valley Metabolic Imaging since 2014, and has been the leading authority in the Central Valley advancing PET/CT and nuclear medicine since his arrival in Fresno. He is also a Clinical Instructor at Stanford University School of Medicine within the Department of Radiology. His expertise and experience is an asset to our patients and physician partners in the Central Valley.

Dr. Gould-Simon’s commitment to the advancement of cancer detection and PET/CT imaging has been a driving force in his career. His endless pursuit of bringing cutting edge imaging techniques and new radiopharmaceuticals to VMI has advanced the care of patients in the Central Valley. VMI is proud to be your local leader and first to offer new tools in the detection of cancer such as Axumin PET/CT for prostate cancer and NETSPOT for neuroendocrine tumors.
Advancing the Nuclear Medicine Community
Dr. Gould-Simon also has great interest in the evaluation of both cardiac and neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. His extensive training in cardiac PET imaging, and Neuro PET and SPECT applications is an asset to patients and clinicians of the Central Valley. VMI and Dr. Gould-Simon were the only local imaging participants in the nationwide multicenter IDEAS trial which showed Amyloid PET imaging can have a major impact on the diagnosis and management of Alzheimer’s disease and patient’s with cognitive impairment.
