Dr. Perno was born and raised in Trenton, NJ. He completed his medical school at Duke University School of Medicine graduating in 3 years and awarded the prestigious Barham Merit Scholarship. He was also a Garden State Scholar at Princeton University where he graduated with MA, PhD degrees in Physical Chemistry where he was a teaching assistant in Quantum Mechanics. His residency training was completed at Temple University Hospital and is a former interventional radiology fellow at UMDNJ and also Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He has worked in industry, academic and private practice.
