Dr. Kenneth W. Chin is the Medical Director of Interventional Radiology for the San Fernando Valley Interventional Radiology and Imaging Center.

Dr. Kenneth W. Chin graduated Summa Cum Laude from Columbia College having majored both in physics and chemistry. He subsequently graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1974. After Harvard, Dr. Chin completed an Internal Medicine internship followed by a Radiology residency at UCLA Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in Interventional Radiology and Cross-Sectional Body Imaging at St. Mary’s Hospital in Long Beach, California. He is Board Certified in Radiology and has also received the American Board of Radiology’s Certificate of Added Qualification in Interventional Radiology.

For 26 years, Dr. Chin served as the head of Interventional Radiology at Northridge Hospital Medical Center. During this time, under his leadership, the Radiology Department acquired the reputation as the premier referral center for Interventional Radiology in the Greater San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles, California). He is a ClinicalAssociate Professor in the Departments of Radiology at UCLA Medical Center and Olive View Medical Center in Sylmar California. Since 1979, he has served as an attending physician (at UCLA) in the sections of Emergency Radiology, Ultrasound, and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Chin recently completed a four year term as the President of MEMRAD Medical Group, Inc. (at one point the largest radiology group in California).

Dr. Chin is a Fellow of the American College of Radiology. He has served as President of the Los Angeles Radiological Society and President of the California Radiological Society. He is a Councilor for the American College of Radiology. He is a senior member of the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine. Moreover, he is currently a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, the International Society for Endovascular Surgery, the Society of Nuclear Medicine, and International Spinal Injection Society.

Dr. Chin has authored numerous publications and has presented over 75 lectures in his field. Dr. Chin has been honored as the Clinical “Teacher of the Year” by the Department of Radiology at UCLA Medical Center in 1996, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2004.
