Delaware Imaging Network is a leader in the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging in a caring and comfortable environment. Led by our expert Women’s Imaging specialists, we go above and beyond to provide you with the best individualized breast care.

Early Detection is the Best Protection

If breast cancer is detected in its earliest stages, care options are plentiful and survival rates are high. That is why we offer a full range of breast imaging procedures including: 3D mammography, breast biopsy (stereotactic, ultrasound guided, and MRI guided), breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and Fast Breast MRI. Because we see ourselves as an extension of your breast health medical team, every woman who chooses Delaware Imaging Network for their annual mammogram will receive an extra layer of care – an additional risk assessment. The results of this assessment will be shared with your your physician to aide them in determining the best level of breast care for you.

Screening mamography and breast ultrasound have traditionally been the standard for the detection of breast cancer. Studies show that a Fast Breast MRI (also referred to as an Abbreviated Breast MRI), in addition to mammography or breast ultrasound, can be a valuable tool for women that are thought to have a high-risk of developing breast cancer*. Fast Breast MRI can be effective at finding hidden cancers that are not easily detected on a mammogram or ultrasound, especially in women with dense breasts. Our additional risk assessment will be a key factor in aiding your physician to determine if you are a good candidate for Fast Breast MRI.

What is a Fast Breast MRI?

A Fast Breast MRI is a supplemental screening tool for women with normal mammograms and no apparent breast issues, but who seek the personal confidence of receiving an additional layer of testing. Unlike a full breast MRI, a Fast Breast MRI is performed in a shorter amount of time, while still providing high diagnostic accuracy. Fast Breast MRI is not intended to replace mammography; it is a supplemental study for women who want a screening in addition to their annual screening mammogram.

Who Can Have a Fast Breast MRI?

Women with dense breasts

Delaware Imaging Network will inform you and your physician if dense breast tissue is shown on your annual screening mammogram.

Women with a >20% lifetime risk of breast cancer

Delaware Imaging Network provides all mammography patients an additional risk assessment. This assessment is a series of questions that is used to calculate your lifetime risk of developing breast cancer. The results from the assessment are sent to your physician, who will then determine if a Fast Breast MRI is right for you.

How much does a Fast Breast MRI Cost?

We recommend checking with your insurance provider to see if you are covered. If your insurance provider does not cover the cost, we can work with you. Call us at 877-990-2121 to discuss your options.
