Delaware Imaging Network Announces Partnership with Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition

Delaware Imaging Network (DIN), has established a partnership with the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Inc. (DBCC). This partnership was formed to provide breast screenings and mammograms to medically underserved populations, including low income and un-insured or under-insured individuals.

“We actually have a long history with DIN, as far back as the days we operated our own mobile mammography van, pap smears, etc.,” says Vickie Cook, interim executive director at DBCC. “So we have had a nice relationship. They’ve been there for us when we needed to bring women over to be screened at the last minute. So this partnership formalizes the natural, collaborative relationship we’ve nurtured through the years.”

The new partnership seeks to accomplish the following goals:

  • Increased access and participation in routine health screenings among those eligible in underserved neighborhoods in Delaware

  • Improved overall health literacy and health behaviors (changes in diet, exercise and screening) related to breast cancer prevention

  • Reduced percentage of late-stage diagnosis of breast cancer

  • Better outcomes for women and men diagnosed with breast cancer

DIN is proud to provide this important service to our community!
