Dr. Janet Storella is board-certified in diagnostic radiology and spent her residency at Beth Israel Hospital (Harvard Medical School). She earned her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio and her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Harvard College. She has a special interest in breast imaging and helped introduce several pioneering technologies such as digital mammography and image guided breast biopsy to the region.

Dr. Storella is affiliated with the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the Society of Breast Imaging and the Association for Women Radiologists, among other organizations.

With over 30 years of radiology experience in the Maryland area, Dr. Storella has been with Community Radiology Associates since 2017. To her, breast imaging is “one of the few areas that allows you to have a clinical presence and a clinical relationship with your patients,” which she finds “especially rewarding.”

Always looking to discover more about her field, Dr. Storella is a participant in the Mid-Atlantic Breast Cancer Consortium, among other conferences.

“I try hard to stay in touch with other breast subspecialty doctors on the east coast and in California,” she said. “We talk about ways that we’re practicing, what the best practices are, share what we’re doing and learn from each other. My approach has always been that I can always learn more. There’s just a lot to do and be interested in to improve your practice.”
